Jester Consulting
Jester is a progressive leadership and coaching company approaching a decade-old. We helped them rebrand to reflect the changing nature of what they do, the difference they offer and make to people’s lives. Having recently trademarked intellectual property, they were also looking to highlight this within the brand.

The brief

Create a brand reflective of the company’s warm and progressive culture. Design and build a website which engages and is simple to use with a CMS for the Jester team to add to and edit as they need. Photography – Use original images throughout The company has to approach senior executives and HR Managers so requires a professional interface with genuinely valuable content and the opportunity to connect. This should be done while not losing our identity in trying to be too corporate.

The brand

The typeface for the logo was kept intentionally simple so that the vivid and sometimes clashing colours could run riot against either black or white backgrounds. The logo leaps to the fore in a pink-red gradient when needed and sits quietly in the background in monochrome when it’s not. The colours were both progressive and representative of the Jester’s profession in itself. Often mis-remembered as simply a fool, These entertainers were afforded “The Jester’s Privilege” in Medieval England, which was the ability and right of a jester to talk and mock freely without being punished. The logo can be adapted as required, to ‘suit the mood’, but without losing any impact or recognition and always ready. The J is also animated in some settings.

The website

The mobile-first website design was created to be easily-edited by the users without disturbing the design. The user interface keeps salient information at the forefront and leads the user to a call to action throughout. Landing pages were designed alongside the website for possible product-specific PPC campaigns in the future.

Gathering content

We used two photographers, one for winter and one for summer shots of the team, both focused on showing the human element of the company, through informality and approachability, leaving the collaboratively created copy educate and inform.

The Result

A mobile-first website, a modern, simple brand with an innovative IP brand sitting alongside it and also acting as a strapline. Lead Happy is both a product to enable executive leadership teams, and the aim of the company both for its clients and internally. A suite of images for all seasons, business stationery and digital business card.

"We loved working with Shuttlefish. They delivered us three brilliantly different concepts, one of which landed just where we wanted it to. Their creativity, vision and understanding of the brief are second to none and the whole process was even fun. Definitely recommend for companies who want fresh ideas, delivered within budget and on time."
